Mental health and Attendance
The Mental Health Attendance Coaching Programme is a school-based intervention designed to support pupils whose mental health is impacting their attendance. Through one-to-one and small group coaching, the programme helps young people explore the emotional barriers behind absence, build coping strategies, and re-establish positive routines and connections with school. It empowers pupils to take ownership of their well-being and attendance, while offering schools a practical, compassionate approach to reducing emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA) and improving engagement.
